On November 4th, Jackson County voters will have the opportunity to VOTE YES to continue the progress we’ve made in Jackson County and our county/city infrastructure.​

Transportation SPLOST is a 1% special purpose local option sales tax, and the funds collected are required by law to be used specifically for transportation & infrastructure improvement projects.

An estimated 30% of TSPLOST dollars come from residents of other areas traveling through Jackson County.

How much will be raised and how will it be used?

TSPLOST is projected to generate $200 million over the six-year collection period. The money raised will be used for:

  • Bridge projects

  • Roadway capacity and widening projects

  • Intersection improvements

  • Sidewalks, multi-use paths, and trails

  • Road resurfacing

  • Airport projects

Why we need it now?

  • Aging infrastructure and increasing traffic congestion

  • Rapid population growth and development

  • Limited funding from state and federal sources

Accountability Measures

  • Independent citizen oversight committee

  • Annual audits and public reporting

  • Transparent project selection and tracking

  • Funds must be used for projects named prior to vote

What is in it for you?

  • County M & O property tax rate will be reduced by one mill.

  • Help recruit retail development and new restaurants to diversify our tax base

  • Will allow for budget realignment to help lower residential property taxes.
